About

About Johnny

Johnny Joo is a photographer based out of the suburbs of Cleveland, OH. He is an internationally accredited artist, most notably recognized for his photography of abandoned places, though his body of work reaches far beyond just those. Growing up sandwiched between the urban cityscape of Cleveland and boundless fields of rural Northeast Ohio provided Johnny with an opportunity to explore Ohio’s natural landscapes, as well as abandonment, destruction, and nature’s reclamation of countless structures. Always a lover of all art mediums, the seeds of a career were planted in Johnny’s mind at the age of 16 when a high school art project landed him in an abandoned farmhouse. Since that time, his art has expanded, including the publication of twelve books, among numerous photographic and digital works. He also loves cats.
